Stephen Ministers provide
one-to-one care to people
in a transitional time in life.
God did not intend for us to walk through trials alone.
Stephen Ministers are trained Westside members with a passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people experiencing a life challenge. They provide one-to-one care to people in a transitional time in life, such as divorce, job loss, grief, illness, relocation, or separation due to military deployment.
To request a Stephen Minister’s support, complete a Care request, and one of our team members will respond within 48 hours.

God's Love in Action
There are times when every one of us experiences difficulties.
loss of a loved one
spiritual crisis
cancer
hospitalization
imprisonment
disability
discouragement
divorce
rehabilitation
job loss
loneliness
many other challenges
God never intended for us to go through these experiences alone.
That's why God has brought us together as a congregation — and why we have Stephen Ministry.
Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who have received 50 hours of caregiving training to minister to people experiencing a crisis, facing a challenge, or simply going through a tough time.
A Stephen Minister will meet with you - privately and confidentially— on a weekly basis to listen, care, encourage, support, and remind you of Christ's presence in your life.
If you'd like to learn more about Stephen Ministry for yourself, a family member, or a friend, neighbor, coworker, or someone else you know-inside or outside our congregation-talk with one of our pastors or Stephen Leaders.

Would you like to be part of a ministry that makes a real difference in others' lives when they need it most and in your own? Consider becoming a Stephen Minister!
Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who provide oneto-one caring ministry to people experiencing grief, divorce, loneliness, job loss, hospitalization, and many other life difficulties.
Stephen Minister training equips you to do an excellent job as a Stephen Minister as well as to improve the quality of all your relationships.
Topics include:
listening
feelings
confidentiality
providing Christian care
maintaining boundaries
crisis theory and practice
ministering to people experiencing grief, divorce, hospitalization, illness, and more
Once equipped, Stephen Ministers are prayerfully matched with people who are going through a stressful time or life difficulty. A Stephen Minister meets with this person once a week for about an hour to listen, care, encourage, and pray. The Stephen Minister brings Christ's presence into the person's life and also experiences Christ in the other person. It's really a life-changing ministry for both the care receiver and the Stephen Minister.

I received care from a Westside Stephen Minister when I was going through cancer and losing my mother. This person walked alongside me during a challenging season. She was loving and caring and gave her unconditional support to me. It was an amazing relationship, and this difficult season was easier with her being by my side.
